Small suzani. Uzbekistan, early 19th century. Three joined cotton panels embroidered with beautifully shaded silk into a grid design of enclosed four leaf salmon and mauve flowers. Narrow border of meandering vine with blue flowers. The embroidery done with couching stitch and chain stitch. 33" x 34". Silk on cotton. Small stains to ground as shown, otherwise good condition. Backing of later period.
